Our shop is located in one of the oldest shopping districts in Kyoto, where brick buildings from the Meiji period (1868-1912), such as the Museum of Kyoto and the Central Post Office remain to this day. Nowadays, this is a popular part of Kyoto, full of fashionable stores which have set up in the old town houses (machiya) and Western style houses in this area. Our Sanjo shop is in an old Western style bank building, which was built in 1930. As the ceilings are very high, we hang yarn from ceiling to wall so as to display to the full all kinds of yarns. |
