  Masami Fukui started the wholesale business of knitting yarn in Kyoto.

• Apr-1992

  Avril was established by Masami Fukui and Setsuko Torii who is the knitwear designer.

• Mar-1994

  Moved to Kitayama St as the office and the retail shop

• Sep-1996

  Moved as the shop which mainly sells handicraft yarns and knitwears.

• Sep-1998

  Opened the yarn shop AVRIL in Osaka, Daimaru shinsaibashi Dept.

• Sep-1999

  Opened the yarn shop AVRIL in Kyoto, Fujii Daimaru.

• Sep-2000

  Opened the yarn shop AVRIL in Kanagawa.

• Apr-2001

  Moved the head office to Kyoto Kitaku Kamigamo and started mail-order service.

• Sep-2001

  Came out original rigid heddle loom.

• Nov-2003

  Moved the shop in Kanagawa to Kichijoji in Tokyo, and opened the new shop,Kichijyoji shop.

• Oct-2004

  Published the book of the collection of works made by the rigid heddle loom ' where does the present arrive' by Masami Fukui.

• May-2005

  Published the book of finger garter knitting devised by Masami Fukui 'kawaii ito ni deattara'.

• Oct-2005

  Published the book of the collection of works made by the rigid heddle loom 'the presents from sheeps' from Maria book company.

• Sep-2006

  Published the book of the collection of knitwears by Setsuko Torii 'SETSUKO TORII HAND-KNIT WORKS' from Maria book company.

• Mar-2007

  Published the second book of finger garter knitting 'kawaii ito de amimono'.

• Apr-2007

  Moved the shop in Kyoto Fujii Daimaru to SACRA building and started Sanjo shop.

• Sep-2007

  Started the series of books for enjoying AVRIL yarns 'Playing with Avril's Yarns'.

• Mar-2009

  Published the book of techniques and materials of hand weaving 'enjoy weaving such as life' by Masami Fukui from Maria book company.

• Feb-2010

  Started to retail products in Tokyu hands Nagoya shop.

• Apr-2010

  Moved the Kichijoji shop to the house at Nakamichi St.

• Apr-2011

  Established AVRIL design room at Sanjo in Kyoto.

• Sep-2012

  Moved the head office to Nishinokyo Shokushi-cho Nakagyo-ku.

• Oct-2012

  The brand "SETSUKO TORII" became independent as SETSUKO TORII KNIT WORKS at Gojo-Karasuma.

• Spt-2014

  Opend the yarn shop AVRIL in Osaka, Umeda shop in Umeda Hanshin Dept. store.

• Mar-2016

  Closed Sanjo shop in Kyoto.

• Apr-2016

  Opend the yarn shop AVRIL in Kyoto, AVRIL pépin Kyoto Ichijoji.
  Moved the head office to Ichijoji Sakyo-ku.
